Skalice

This picture postcard presents the upper part of the village as seen from the Skalický vrch-hill. On the right side rises the Chotovický vrch, behind of which one part of Nový Bor is seen. The horizon is closed by the peaks of the Lusatian Mts with the dominant Klíč.
This picture postcard from the beginnings of the 20th century shows the centre of the village as seen from the formerly Mühlberg (mill-hill) called western projection of the Chotovický vrch-hill. The prominent building among the houses in the foreground is the building of the local authority, to the right there is the church St Ann and to the left of it the large cemetery is seen.
On this picture postcard from the break between the 19th and 20th century we see the central part of Skalice as seen from the slope of the Mlýnský vršek hill. On the left border we see the municipal authority, on the right the prominent light-coloured schoolhouse and the neighbouring restaurant „Zur Sonne“ with its red roof. In the background there is the Church of St. Anne. The house standing obliquely before the church does no more exist.

On this picture postcard from about 1910 we see the centrum of Skalice with the church of St. Ann, to the right from stands the presbytery and in front of it there is the inn „Zur Sonne“.

This picture postcard from the beginning of the 20th century shows the central part of the village with the former inn „Zum blauen Stern“ on its left side. Both the inn and the opposite house with the timbered upper storey today exist not more.
On his picture postcard we see the glass works at the railway station built in 1893 by Anton Rückl.

This picture postcard from between the two world wars show the local road leading along of the Sporka-brook under the Skalický vrch hill. The house in the background is standing here to the present day.
