Lithographies

This lithography shows the central part of the town dominated by the church Assumption of the Virgin. On the smaller pictures there are the building of the Technical school of the Glass Industry, the lower secondary school with the church on the town square and on the lowermost one the former gymnasium. In the round pictures in the upper left you see the Klíč-hill and in the lower right the Eremite rock tower at Sloup.
On this lithography from the end of the 19th century we see (left) the then Post street named street leading from the town square in the direction to Česká Lípa, in the centre the church Assumption of the Virgin at the town square and at the right one the Klíč-hill. The lower picture shows the building of the Technical school of the Glass Industry.

This picture postcard had been edited in 1913 on the occasion of the planned landing of the Zeppelin airship „Dresden“. Two times the bad weather caused a shift of the date of its landing and, finally, the Zeppelin landed at Nový Bor as late as 9th November 1913.

Square

On this picture postcard from the end of the 19th century the southeastern part of the town-square is shown with the church Assumption of the Virgin and the house of the lower secondary school built in 1887 on the place of the former Piarist secondary school.
This picture postcard from 1901 shows the church Assumption of the Virgin, the present appearance of which originates from the reconstruction by J. V. Kosch between 1786 and 1788.
On this picture postcard from the 30s of the 20th century the southern side of the town square with the church Assumption of the Virgin and the monumental building of the savings bank is shown. Between them there is the former Post street with the restaurant „Zur Post“ in the foreground.
This picture postcard shows the Art Nouveau building of the post office and savings bank a short time after it was finished in 1904.
On this picture postcard you see the soutwestern corner of the market place with the monumental Art-Noueau building of the postoffice and the savings bank opened in summer 1904. In the thirties the decorative cupola of the tower had to be taken down.

This picture postcard shows the houses on the western side of the town square. On the right side stands the former seignorial granary which in 1821 had been adapted to meet the requirements of the municipality which uses the building till today.

On this picture postcard from the years between both World Wars you see the neatly arranged small park in the norhern part of the town square. In the great building on its left side since 1821 the municipality is located, in the house on the right side in the foreground there is the Glass museum. Over the town rises the low Borský vrch-hill and on the horizon the sharp cone of the Klíč-hill.
This picture postcard remembers the visit of the choral society of the students of the German university of Prague on July 22, 1902 on the occasion of laying wreaths at the monument of Emperor Joseph II. in the park at the town square.
On this picture postcard from the end of the 19th century we see the centre of the town square with the now Kalinova ulice named street in the middle. On the right side a part of the lower secondary school and to the left of it the Empire building of the Glas museum, built by the glass merchant Johann Christoph Socher in 1804 are seen.

This picture postcard from the 20s of the 20th century shows the then Post street leading from the town square in the direction to Česká Lípa as seen from the tower of the church of the Assumption of the Virgin. In the background the tower of the Protestant church is seen which later, in 1982, had been destroyed by fire, and on the horizon there rises the Chotovický vrch-hill.
On this picture postcard from about 1905 the then Poststreet is shown from the south. In the foreground there is the Protestant church built in 1902, in the background the tower of the church Assumptioon of the Virgin and the horizon behind the town is closed by the monumental cone of the Klíč-hill.

Important buildings

On this picture postcard from the beginning of the 20th century we see the building of the municipal gymnasium at the road (the street T. G. Masaryka) leading from the market square to Česká Lípa which had been built in 1880.
This picture postcard from 1917 shows the former house No.20 in the then Poststrasse-street (now T.G. Masaryk-street) in which resided the command of the garrison Nový Bor. In the 70s of the 20th century this house with its neighbours were demolished and replaced by prefabricated houses.

This picture postcard from the time between the World Wars records the memorial to soldiers killed in the World War One which was erected 1923 in the entrance area of the woodland cemetery. The memorial is standing here till presentays, only after 1945 the Cross of Iron on its peak had been removed.
