On this picture postcard from the end of the 19th century there is an overall view of the village from the southwest and to the right of it the church of St. Maria Magdalena from 1714. The lower pictures show the then post office, the central one the Calvary hill and the right one the school standing near of the church.

On this picture postcard we see Mařenice village from the peak of Calvary hill. The village is concentrated along of the road and dominated by the church of St Mary Magdalene, the horizon is closed by woody hills with the Luž (right) as the highest peak. In the cutout below the building of the former grocery is shown, which stood near the branching of the road to Heřmanice.

his picture postcard shows the central part of the village Mařenice seen from the chapel on the peak of the Calvary hill. The dominant building of the village is the church of St. Maria Magdalena, behind of which the Luž-hill is seen. In the cut-out picture at the bottom there is the former restaurant „Zur frischen Quelle“ (in German = the fresch spring) on the road to Kunratice.

This picture postcard shows the centre of Mařenice with the church of St Mary Magdalene seen from the west. The road in the foreground leads to Cvikov, behind the village rises the Zámecký vrch (Castle hill) and on the left side in the background is on the border between Bohemia and Saxonia rises the Hvozd.

This picture postcard from 1942 shows the village from the south. To the right you see the old road to Kunratice with the gamekeeper´s lodge hidden behind the trees, and the wooded slope of the Calvary hill. In the background to the left there is the church of St. Maria Magdalena.

This picture postcard from from the years between the wars shows the lower part of the village with the wooded Calvary-hill behind of which in the background rises the Hvozd hill. Near the right magin there is the old gamekeepers house at the old road to Kunratice which also is shown in the cutout on the lower right. On the left side there is the chapel on the peak of the Calvary hill.

This picture postcard from the 30s of the 20th century shows the chapel on the Calvary-hill as seen from the main road near the branch road to Heřmanice. In front of Richter's inn then stood the fire-brigade's tower produced by the iron foundry Neuwinger in Mařenice, in the foreground to the left there is Anton Engel's grocery in the house No. 161.

On this picture postcard from the 20s of the 20th century we see the grocery and drapery of Karl and Anna Winkler. This house till present days is standing on the branch road leading to the gamekeeper's lodge.

This picture postcard shows the former Winkler´s grocery on the branch road to the gamekeeper's lodge in the 2nd half of the 40s of the 20th century as it belonged to the North Bohemian Co-op Society. The cross in the foreground later had been demolished and on its place remained only its pedestal. In 2004 a new cross of wrought iron was installed on it.

This picture postcard from the years between the wars the restaurant and wine bar standing opposite to the branch road to Cvikov is shown which at present is named „U tří lip“ (Three Lindens). The left side shows the sculptures near the bridge over the Svitava brook, the timbered house behind of them already does not exist.

This photo most probably made shortly after World War I shows one of the cottages on the northern periphery of the village under the Soví vrch-hill. At present the house is still standing, but its look-out had been modified by later adaptations.

This picture postcard from the years before World War One shows in its left half the beautiful house of the primary school below the church, on the right side an villa which till today but heavily devastated is standing on the corner between the roads to Cvikov and Dolní Světlá.

On this picture postcard from 1908 the church of St. Mary Magdalene is shown along with its interior which in the course of the general devastation of the church in the sixties of the 20th century went to rack and ruin.

This picture postcard from the years between the wars shows the front of the church of St. Maria Magdalena which in the 80s of the 20th century was condemned to be demolished. Only by the efforts of Marcel Hrubý and by the selfless help of many other enthusiasts it was saved.

On this picture postcard we see the war memorial devoted to the victims of the Prussian-Austrian war of 1866 which stood in front of the church of St. Maria Magdalena. In 1933 it had been renovated and dedicated to the memory of soldiers killed in World War One, after World War Two it had been removed.

On this picture postcard under the typical overall view of the village we see the attractive building of the Oppitz's restaurant „Zum Lindenhof“ No. 17 which then was standing on the road not far from the school. In 1947 the house partially burnt down and later had been demolished.

On this picture postcard from 1924 is the former „Sun and open air bath“ founded by the Mountain Corporation at Mařenice. It is situated on the road from Juliovka to Hamr, to-day it has ben totally reconstructed and serves for private purposes.

This picture postcard as the foregoing one shows the restaurant and recreation centre „Waldesfrieden“ of Wilhelm Herrmann which particularly in the interwar years enjoyed great popularity. At the end of the 20th century it was sensitively reconstructed but a restaurant you will no longer find here.

On this picture postcard we see the former Schnitzer's boarding-house which was attractively situated inmidst of a green not far from the road from Juliovka to Hamr. This house retained its stylish outlook till our days.

On this picture postcard from about 1930 the former sun-bath near of the road from Juliovka to Hamr and Schnitzer's boarding-house standing higher up on the slope are shown. Both the houses survived to the present days.

This picture postcard shows the swimming-pool near of Richter's restaurant under the Calvary hill, established in the 20s of the 20th century. After the wars the pool was filled up and at present there is a garden on its place.
