On this postcard of Kamenický Šenov from 1898 in the upper part an overall view of the town with the dominating hill Šenovský vrch is displayed. Below it to the left is the church St. John the Baptist with the parsonage, in the centre the Panská skála-rock and to the right the school. Lower left is the former hotel Mercantile at the market place.

On the small pictures to the right is the glass factory Adolf Rückl near the railway station, in the centre the gymnasium and to the lower left the School of Applied Art in Glass-Industry.

This picture postcard from 1924 shows the already destroyed house of the glass shop Czerney & Co. at the corner of the market place and the former main road to Nový Bor.
This picture postcard from 1901 shows the southwestern corner of the market place with the till now standing house No. 51 built some time before 1787.
On this picture postcard a part of the market place with the building of the bank „Kreditanstalt der Deutschen“ and before it the stone fountain built on the side wall of the municipal museum. Both these houses had been later demolished and to-day only the house No. 51 in the background and the fountain are preserved.
This picture postcard from the ninety-thirties shows the participants of the tradional easter horseback riding at the corner of the market place before the municipal museum and the building of the bank „Kreditanstalt der Deutschen“. Today none of these houses does exist.
This picture postcard from the years of World War Two shows the market place with the municipal museum in the centre. The museum and both the houses to the left of it were later demolished and to-day persists only the building of the post-office standing on the right side.
On this picture postcard in the foreground there is the house which till 2002 served as the inn „U kulaté báby“ (The round hag) and then had been demolished.

Streets and open areas

This picture postcard from 1913 shows the main road as seen in the direction from Česká Kamenice. In the background there is the monumental school and from the horizon behind it rises the Šenovský vrch-hill.
On this postcard there is the central part of Kamenický Šenov with the main road from Česká Kamenice climbing after the bridge the hill to Prácheň. In the background there is the great school building and to the left the Šenovský vrch-hill.
This postcard of Kamenický Šenov from 1916 shows the main street from the town square in the direction to Prácheň and Nový Bor. On the left side is the family residence of the glassmaker's businessman Elias Palme.
On this postcard there is the upper part of the main road leading from Prácheň to the town square. The first two houses on the left side at present are demolished and now there is a students hostel of the glass-industry technical school.
This postcard shows the main road climbing the hill from the town-square to Prácheň. At present the house on the right side is still standing, its extension and two of the houses below it had already been demolished. Instead of them there is a small park.
This picture postcard from 1912 shows the lower part of the road leading from Slunečná into the town. In the upper left cut you see a shop the house of which had been in the course of a later modernization totally altered.
On this picture postcard from 1928 the forme Görner´s inn is seen, the house of which till now is standing at the crossing of the roads from Nový Oldřichov and from Slunečná.
This picture postcard from the beginning of the 20th century shows the place at the church St John the Baptist. To the right there is the presbytery still before its reconstruction into the shape of to-day.
On this picture postcard we see the crossroad at the church St John the Baptist. The house with the former bookshop remained till to-day, but its appearance is totally changed.

Important buildings

On this picture postcard without date is the former hotel Mercantile now adapted for a health centre with a pharmacy.
This picture postcard from 1900 shows a part of the interior of the hotel Mercantile which mainly served the glass merchants.
On this picture postcard you see the newly-built theatre and cinema opened on 27 October, 1927. In the house in the foreground at present there is the municipality, the appearance of the house was after the war during its reconstruction totally changed.
This picture postcard shows the monumental building of the primary and lower secondary schools built on the slope above the church in 1893.

This picture postcard from 1900 shows the former power station of Kamenický Šenov standing somewhat under Elias Palme´s chandelier factory in the upper part of the town. The plant was the first power station of the former Děčín district and began to operate 20 April, 1899.
On this postcard from World War II the former restaurant „Schloss Pillnitz“ in the lower part of the town of Kamenický Šenov is shown. The building is still standing but the great stone crucifix on the left side was in 1948 carried away by a flood.

On this picture postcard from 1941 the area of the nature cure public bath on the foot of the Šenovský vrch after its enlargement in the thirties is shown.
This postcard from 1931 shows the then newly adapted Liebisch's fountain at the foot of the Šenovský vrch. Later the fountain had been destroyed and in 1997 restored.
On this picture postcard from the end of the thirties of the 20th century the glass-worker J. Bienert is shown who, in the years of the Depression, built a miniature village of wooden houses.
This picture postcard shows a part of the miniature village named „Krisendörfel“ (Depression village), standing formerly in the garden of J. Bienert´s house in Dolní Šenov.
On this picture postcard there is the old mill No. 108 at Dolní Šenov mentioned already in documents from the 16th century. This vast building, the facade of which was decorated by a sundial, had been demolished at the beginning of the sixties of the 20th century.

On this picture postcard there is the Chapel of St. Trinity at Dolní Šenov which at present no longer exists.
This picture postcard from 1912 shows the monument of Emperor Franz Josef 1st in the original form without the stone tables bearing the names of the victims of World War One.
This picture postcard shows the war memorial in the park at the church after its completion by tables containing the names of the soldiers killed in World War One.

Local railway

This picture postcard evokes reminders on the mountain railway from 1903 going around the town in a great curve. In the pictures surrounding the map there is the town centre with the church St. John the Baptist, the area of Elias Palme´s chandelier factory and two pictures of the railway beneath the Šenovský vrch-hill. The trains were running here till the cancellation of the line in September 1979.

The postcard from 1910 shows the already discontinued mountain railway from Kamenický Šenov to Česká Lípa behind the lower station. To the right there is the pronounced peak of the Střední vrch and behind it on the horizon the peaks in the surroundings of the Studenec hill.

This postcard records the upper railway station at Kamenický Šenov shortly after the reopening of its operation which in February 1924 had been interrupted by a heavy snowstorm.

Rocks

On this picture postcard from 1944 you see the sandstone quarries in the lower part of the town at the road to Dolní Prysk. Now there are houses. In the background is the Zámecký vrch hill near Česká Kamenice.
On this picture postcard there are the sandstone rocks at the slope over the bathing pool at Dolní Šenov. On the footpath leading along of the rocks to the top of the hill formerly were the stations of the Cross.
