Křížový vrch near Cvikov

On this postcard there are the Stations of the Cross at Cvikov. On the upper picture is the first chapel with the relief „Christ at the Calvary“, the lower showing the stone Stations of the Cross with the Chapel of the Holy Grave in the background.
This picture postcard shows the stations of the Cross with the chapel of the Holy Sepulchre at its highest point. The stations stood in a alley of lime-trees planted in 1883.
In 1923 the peak of the Kalvárie near of Cvikov had been adapted for a so-called heroe's grove. In its rocks more than 100 bronze plaques with the names of the soldiers killed in World War 1st had been placed.
On this picture postcard you see a part of the „Grove of Heros“ created in 1923 on the peak of the Křížový vrch as monument remembering the soldiers from Cvikov killed during World War One.
