This picture postcard from the End of the 19th century shows the restaurant on the Janské kameny - Johannisstein in its original design from 1880. On the upper picture you see its appearance as seen from the Bohemian and at the bottom from the German side of the border.

This picture postcard shows the peak of the Janské kameny - Johannissteine with the restaurant which in the course of the years was overgrown by wood, at about 1920 when a part of the timbered veranda had been replaced by a brickwall construction. The Hvozd - Hochwald hill was artificially painted into the background as actually it is situated on the other side of the hill.

On this picture postcard from 1931 we see the restaurant on the Janské kameny - Johannisstein already in its final shape. On the right behind of it there is the smaller „Schönfelder-Baude“, built already on the German side of the border.

In the foreground there is the restaurant on the Bohemian side of the border (at present under reconstruction) and on the right behind of it the German „Schönfelder-Baude“ built in 1922 is seen.

On this picture postcard we see the former „Schönfelder-Baude“, built at about 1922 immediately along of the restaurant on the Bohemian side, but on German grounds. After 1998 it was reconstructed for recreational purposes.

This photograph shows the northwest slopes of the Janské kameny in 1935, when they were still classically cultivated. In the background, the highest mountain Luž stands out and to the right is Buchberg. The homestead downstairs among the trees no longer exists today.
