On this picture postcard from the beginning of the 20th century we see the border hill Hrádek with its excursion restaurant and lookout tower built by the local section of the Mountain Association for Northernmost Bohemia from 1903 to 1904.

This picture postcard from about 1920 shows the Hrádek-hill with its hiker´s restaurant on the peak. On the foot of the hill then there was another attractive hiker´s restaurant „Zur schönen Aussicht“ (The Pleasant View).

This picture postcard shows the peak of the Hrádek not long before 1930. The from far away visible excursion restaurant had been built according to the plans of the architect Anton Möller from Varnsdorf.

This picture postcard shows the magnificent excursion restaurant with its lookout-tower a short time after its solemn opening on May 15, 1904. This new dominant of Varnsdorf soon became a very popular goal of walks and also a frequent place for different cultural and social activities.

On this picture postcard the excursion restaurant on the Hrádek-hill is shown from an different direction. The building served also after World War Two, but in the 90s of the 20th century because of the lack of interest of its new owners very quickly fell to ruins. Before being fully ruined it was saved after 2000by the joint efforts of the Czech and German public.
