Hamr near Naděje

On this lithograph from 1903 at the upper left is the entrance of the ice cave and below the rock gate of the Milštejn castle ruin. On the left in the foreground is the inn „Hammermühle“ and a barn and in the backgroung the old mill. From these three buildings at present only the barn in the centre is preserved.
This picture postcard from the end of the 19th century shows the former inn „Zur Hammermühle“ only without of the later built summer veranda. On the lower foto there ist the rocky massif of the Milštejn ruin.
This postcard shows the Hamerský mlýn-mill looked like in 1911 (below). To the right there is the entrance into the Ice cave at the Suchý vrch-hill, abovea picture of the inn „Hammermühle“ with an wooden garden house in which used to sit Daniel Koch, the author of a local history-book from the twenties of the 20th Century. The atmosphere at that time he described as follows: „The woods are murmuring, the brook lapping on its banks, the circular saw is singing - an idyllic asylum...“.
On this picture postcard from 1935 we see the village of Hamr from the east. In the foreground ist a part of the former Upper sawing mill, beneath of it stands the inn „Zur Hammermühle“ and on the rigth side there is the the Mitter's villa with the neighboring house. The gamekeeper's house between the wood belongs already to Horní Světlá.
