This picture postcard from 1899 shows several of the most interesting places in the environs of Česká Kamenice. On the left side there is the Zámecký vrch, the Brethren's altar and the Trinity-Chapel in the sandstone rocks, on the right side under the overall view of the town the ruins of the Pustý zámek castle and the rock Ponorka with its look-out platform.

In the centre of this postcard of Česká Kamenice from 1898 is a partial view of the market place with the fountain, on the left side from above the gymnasium, the hotel at the railway station and the eastern side of the market place, whereas on the right side is the former shooting-range building and the summer-house in the woods below the Jehla-rock.

Overall views

This picture postcard shows the town seen from the foot of Sedlo hill in the direction from the southwest. In the foreground there is the railway station, behind of it the woodland of the Sedlo hill and in the background there is the Studenec hill with the Javorek and Zlatý vrch hills.
This picture postcard shows the town in the view from the Zámecký vrch hill. In the background there is the settlement Filipov and on the left side the Růžovský vrch is protruding from the background.
This postcard from 1921 displays the overall view of Česká Kamenice from the foot of the Zámecký vrch hill. In the foreground to the left the building of the school is noticeable, the prominent hill in the background is the Růžovský vrch-hill.
On this postcard we see the northwestern part of the town as seen from the Ptačí vrch hill under the Zámecký vrch-hill. Among the houses in the background you see the famous Virgin's chapel, on the horizont the massive Růžovský vrch and before it the lower Stražiště hill.
This picture postcard shows the norteastern borders of the town with the upper part of Horní Kamenice. In the background on the left side the Stražiště hill and behind of it the Růživský vrch-hill are seen.
This picture postcard shows the western part of the town as seen from the foots of the Jehla-hill. The foreground is on the right side dominated by the Virgin's Chapel and alongside of it we see the roof of the former poorhouse and in the background the seignorial brewery with the houses surrounding the railway-station. In the background rises the Sedlo-hill.
On this picture postcard from 1911 an overall look of the town with the Zámecký vrch-hill in the background is reproduced. In the foreground there are the buildings of the former seignorial farm and of the civic brewery.
This picture postcard shows the settlement of new houses built in the nineteen-twenties in the easternmost part of Česká Kamenice along the road to Kytlice.
On this picture postcard you see the water basin in the garden of the Karsch's villa (at present a children's home). In the low house in the centre there was the dwelling of Karsch's caretaker.
This postcard from 1908 made from the tower of the church of St. Jacob shows the northeastern part of the town with the prominent buildings of the school and the former gymnasium. To the right in the background there is the lookout-rock Jehla (=needle).

Square

On this postcard of Česká Kamenice from 1925 is the outlook from the tower of the St. James' church to the northwestern corner of the Market place and the surrounding part of the town with the chapel of the Birth of Virgin Mary.

On this postcard of Česká Kamenice from 1910 is the western side of the Market place with the Art-Nouveau building of the savings-bank and the place of the former restaurant „Zur Sonne“ (left). On the previous postcard you see a view of the same place in 1899.

This postcard of Česká Kamenice from 1913 shows the southwestern corner of the Market place with the Art-Nouveau building of the savings-bank and the neighbouring restaurant U Slunce which was destroyed in the last days of World War II. In the background are the buildings of the former lords brewery.
On this picture postcard from the turn of the 19th and 20th century the old houses with arcades at the Hrnčířský trh (Pottery Market) adjacent to the south side of the Market Square are shown. At present only the corner house with a tiered gable survives.

On this postcard of Česká Kamenice from 1931 is the southeastern corner of the Market place with the St. James' church. In the background is the Zámecký vrch with the ruin of the Kamenice castle.

This picture postcard shows the fountain and the sculpture of Virgin Mary in the centre of the town-square. The house of the hotel „Adler“ in the background later went to ruin, in 1968 it was demolished and newly built.

Streets and open areas

On this picture postcard the Station Street with Hübel's restaurant „Bahnhofs-Hotel“ (Station hotel) opened in July 1892 is shown. In the foreground on the right side there is the building of the railway station.
On this picture postcard from 1901 there is the former Nová ulice (New Street) built after 1658 as seen to the south from the castle's gate. Till the middle of the 20th century several wooden houses remained here. In the background there is the tower of St. James'.

This view through the castle's gate near St. James' in the direction to the Market Square is from 1943. Behind the gate to the left you see the now demolished former inn „Zu drei Karpfen“ (Three Carps Inn).
On this picture postcard from 1905 the Dvořákova ulice (Dvořák Street) with the monumental building of the hotel „Stern“ (Star) is shown.
On this picture postcard we see the western castle gate leading from the to brewery to the castle's courtyard.

This picture postcard shows the castle courtyard with the eastern entrance, from behind of it the tower of the church of James the Greater protrudes.
This postcard of Česká Kamenice from 1921 shows the former gymnasium. To the left in the background is the school.
On this picture postcard from the turn of the 19th and 20th century we see the gymnasium built from 1895 to 1896, and in the background the schoolhouse from 1883. The framework houses on the left side had been destroyed by the air-raid of 8 may 1945.
On this picture postcard from 1904 the school building built from 1881 to 1883 in the now Komenský Street named street is shown.
On this picture postcard we see the new schoolhouse built from 1909 to 1911 in the street now named after Palacký. Behind of the schoolhouse protrudes the tower of the church of St. James´ and the horizon is closed by the Růžovský vrch-hill.

This picture postcard shows the northeastern periphery of the town with the prominent house of the general hospital opened 6 July, 1908.

On this picture postcard the oldest villa of the Preidel family is shown in which later the direction of the Rabstein spinning mills was placed. At present there is a children's and youth centre.
This picture postcard from about 1910 shows the second Preidel's villa already when Preidel's nephew Emanuel Karsch owned it. In the villa at present there is a children's home, its design, however, by the later modernization was thoroughly changed.

Churches

On this picture postcard from 1901 there is the St. Mary's Chapel in the northern part of the town. The cemetery surrounding the chapel was abandoned in 1922 and later convertet to a park.
This picture postcard shows the stairway with the avenue before the entrance into the Virgin's Chapel.
This postcard of Česká Kamenice from the beginning of the 20th century shows the pilgrimage chapel of the Birth of Virgin Mary with the cloister.
On this picture postcard except of the area of St. Mary's Chapel also the sculpture of the Virgin Mary carved in 1680 by Christian Ulrich, woodcarver in Zittau (Germany) is shown.
